Military spending
[edit]Is there a source that could be cited to indicate in this article whether military spending is considered "public sector" spending? (sdsds - talk) 18:51, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I would argue that government itself is part of the public sector
[edit]The public sector is those organizations owned by the public and/or the government, and governments are organizations owned by the public and/or self-owned organizations; ergo, the government is itself a part of the public sector. Is any of the two premises fallacious? Is there any fault in this reasoning? Everything Is Numbers (talk) 10:49, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Healthcare is not necessarily universal or part of the public sector
[edit]"Healthcare" is referenced as being part of the public sector. This is only true in countries with universal healthcare. In the United States, for example, HC is a mixture of public and private entities. This is so common I don't even know how to reference it. And across the globe every country mixes these entities in different proportions. But it seems to me to be definitely no generality. Aliris19 (talk) 16:39, 16 October 2022 (UTC) - thanks!
Should a page on "Public Commons" redirect here?
[edit]I am not sure, but I believe "Public Commons" refers essentially to the "public sector". There is a Wikipedia page on "Commons" but "public" doesn't really get referenced there. The term alone means 'resources held in common'. So this is a special case of that and it means, I believe, essentially the "public sector". imo the term "public commons" is used sufficiently to warrant a page that redirects to here in the absence of its fulfillment. I also have no reference for this, and don't know whether this is the right location for my remark. tia. Aliris19 (talk) 16:51, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
